Does a desktop PC have a place in the post-Covid world⁉️

There are many workplaces that are still on PC setups

But more and more employees now have to work remotely

Which requires a switch from PC to a laptop

This puts the help desk in overtime mode, to deal with questions like…

🤔 how do I securely connect to the company network?
🤔 how do I print from home?
🤔 how do I receive calls on the laptop?

For employees, this is trial and error and the learning curve can be steep

⚠️Which impacts their productivity

👉🏽So how do you remove these obstacles to be better prepared❓

📌Allocate adequate time for the transition – This year is a unicorn but ideally, ample time is necessary so that it’s not rushed

📌Reassign tasks to other team members – Leverage your tech savvy team members to do the heavy lifting during the transition

📌Eliminate unnecessary processes – Consider eliminating printing altogether, that will save you the need to buy extra printers to take home

📌Pilot the changes – Start with a small group and expand to the rest once you have a firmed up process

📌Have extra laptops – be prepared to replace the new laptops….it happens!

What other ways have you become better prepared for changes❓
