How do you deal with ambiguity in product management?

As a product manager, there’s always a lot going on at any given time

From coming up with an idea for a product to dealing with unexpected consumer feedback and all the way to defining success criteria for your product once it launches in the market

And for the most part, there’s usually no clear next step

And you can easily get stuck in analysis paralysis

And get stretched so thin that you don’t get to accomplish much at the end

Dealing with ambiguity comes with the territory of being a product manager

Here are my go-to tips that I always use to navigate ambiguity and avoid getting stuck

  1. Be comfortable with uncertainty – this mindset will keep you grounded and minimize panic
  2. Prioritize the things that only you can solve – your goal is to remove obstacles that slow down the progress of the product design work
  3. Delegate the rest – this is why product management is a team effort
