The biggest bottleneck for most product development teams is innovation❗
Even for the biggest brands
They don’t fully understand how consumers want to experience their products
And this is costing them a lot of business
👉🏾Here’s an example….
Imagine you want to make an international money transfer
The service provider has an app that says “send money in minutes”
You quickly input all the required details (and everything is validated)
Then when you are ready to make the payment, a message pops up saying that you have to go to a physical store to complete the transaction
You then drive to a store
And the store asks you to input the details into their machine
Because they can’t retrieve the details that you completed in the app
Long story short, what was supposed to be “send money in minutes” becomes an hour-long frustrating experience
.
So what really went wrong here?
❌ Clearly, the customer experience was not top of mind when the service was designed
📌So understand that innovation is a result of multiple pain points at the consumer level
📌Which means that you have to start from the end user and work backwards to design your product
👉🏾Because developing a product is developing a customer experience
