What happens when the business outgrows you as a product manager?
As consumer needs evolve at rapid pace, coupled with new technology options
Your product shelf life is no longer in years, but in months
As a product manager, you have to keep the innovation wheel turning
And constantly pushing out new or enhanced products
But there are roadblocks to this rush: budget, resources, etc
And the cost of rushing is revisioning and recalls
You are probably not prepared for all of this but this is the reality
So how do you strike a balance between all the moving parts?
A product strategy is one way to bring everything together
It allows you to articulate what’s important to the consumer and align it to your goal
This will reduce stress and product execution fails
What other ways have you managed to strike a balance?
